This blog is going to be dedicated to my God cousin NuNu. And before you all say, “well this doesn’t relate to music,” oh but it does see look. NuNu was a thirteen yea old boy who aspired to be a child actor. prior to his death he had auditioned for role on the television network Nickelodeon. He got the role but unfortunately he was shot and killed a couple of weeks after he got the role. NuNu left behind four siblings the youngest being five years old and the oldest being twenty-one. His older brother is an aspiring artist and he recently released a song under the stage name “HEAD” but through out this blog i’m going to call him Duck because that’s was his nickname when we were growing up. Duck help write a song that is now very mainstream in the city of St. Louis titled ” Me and My Brother” performed by 5ive. When Duck’s youngest brother NuNu passed away he decided to translate his pain into art and created a beautiful song titled, “Not Alone” . It is now available on all music platforms, but be sure to search ” Head Head”. I’m going to deeply miss NuNu although we didn’t get to see each other as much,but every time we did see each other is was like we just saw one another the day before. NuNu was so mature for his age. He would give me advice when we were younger. He didn’t deserve to leave that way. He wanted to be something in life and he was actually working for it. It’s heart breaking. People can’t live in peace without being hit with a stray bullet. #LLNUNU5

Some of you may or may not know that I make music … I’m taking my time and I also can’t just jump in the studio with just any ole engineer/producer. They have to be able to create the sound I’m trying to put out there… I can’t tell the difference between a song that has time behind from a song that was just written and recorded. Before I release any music into this world I want at least 10 songs in my back pocket … I plan on pulling a Solange. If you don’t know who Solange is then you must’ve been living under a rock. But no in a seriousness Solange is Beyoncé’s younger sister and she released her debut album “ A Seat at the Table” in 2016 but the interesting part about the making of the album is that the songs were written 8 years prior to them being mixed and mastered in a studio. It just goes to show that patience is a virtue. I really enjoy discovering a good song using my own creativity sometimes I sit back like wow did I really just write that . The moral of the story is that I’m not in a huge rush to get in a studio I want to take my time and find the right sound… I jus want it to sound how I imagine it to sound.When it’s all said and done I would hope that everyone appreciates it… can’t wait.

Let’s please discuss Miss Summer Walker. She had the MOST anticipated album of the year thus far. Her 18 track album titled “Over It” with songs featuring Usher, Bryson Tiller, 6LACK, PartyNextDoor, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Jhene Aiko. With most of her album being produced by her insanely talented boyfriend London on da Track folks already knew that the project was going to be golden. The total length of the masterpiece is forty-eight minutes and fifty-four seconds. The top three songs on the album happen to be, “Playing Games” which is sampled from Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name”, Come Thru featuring Usher Raymond which also happens to be sampled from his hit song,” Make Me Wanna”. Summer Walker also received praise from Drake who she also has a song with. He stated that he really enjoyed her song”Fun Girl” which is track number seven. He also stated that she inspired him to write two songs. Summer Walker is currently signed to Interscope records which is good news to me because some of my favorite artists have been signed to this specific label such as, Eminem, Dr Dre, Tupac, Billie Eillish , Kendrick Lamar, and Dababy. Interscope always held a good representation in my eyes. With “Over It” Being only her second body of music she definitely proved some folks wrong with this one considering this has been her first big move since her last hit single ” Girls Need Love” Which was released July 26 2018. A lot of critics expected her to simply be a one-hit-wonder all because she decided to take her time to deliver such a beautiful body of work. And I’m glad she did. This album is available on all platforms.

10:14 PM and I feel the need to update you all on my Spotify Playlist(s). Lets start off from top to bottom. First up we have “Fav of J.Cole” as some people know J. cole is my favorite rapper. This place feature some of my favorite songs and my favorite albums by him. Songs such as “Photograph” from his latest album ” KOD”. And another song “Power Trip” from one of his first mainstream album “Born sinner”. The next playlist is titled “Feels” and basically this playlist is built of songs that happen to put me in my feels and love to listen to it while i’m traveling and sleeping. It features songs like “Electric” by Alina Baraz, ft. Khalid. and another song such as “Chanel” by Frank Ocean. Now we have one of my favorite playlists titled ” LOVE?” and this filled with love songs which now very self explanatory looking back at it. It contains songs such as “Stuck In My Ways” by Phora who is one of my some what new favorite artist he’s really dope i think you all should go check him out he’s kind of a r&b artist with a little rap flare to it. One of my final playlist is named “Litty” which is packed with songs that get me and my friends lit! Songs like ” Banned up” by Ronny J ft. XXXTENTACION that song is such a laid back lit type of song it gets me so relaxed but yet so reaady to go out and party. then there is ” Off the Wall!” by XXXTENTACION ft Ski MAsk The slump God. So today m friends dropped a diss track. Well technically the haven’t dropped it they’ve only recorded it. And let me tell you that thing is FIRE! Straight HEAT when I tell you they’re spitting straight bars. They’re spiting straight bars they. They rapped at least 24 bars straight no B.S. I’m extremely proud of them they’re sound is so dope I love the way they maneuver. My advice to them as they carry on with their music is something I tell everyone who is planning on pursuing music as a career is to stay independent. That way you won’t owe nobody anything and you own all your own shit. Like why would you want to be signed to any label when all the artist that you want to be like wish they we’rent signed to a damn label. Now for the homecoming update. So i’m no longer going with the person i was originally going with so there’s that, but today I got my homecoming stuff out of the way wish feels really good. It feels like ten tons were taken off of my shoulders. I just hope that all my stuff looks right. #FingersCrossed Next, I just have to figure out how im doing my hair like i have no fricking idea and no one is trying to help me and it’s irritating me. Woah! i feel like i’m extremely to lit today i been jamming too hard today i don’t know if it’s because it’s Friday. It’s not like I have anything special planned for the weekend i think i’m just too excited for this week to be over and next week to start ya feel me. I’ve been listening to a lot of NBA Youngboy maybe that has something to do with my strange mood swings. I do this thing when i can be extremely quiet and then I began to talk too damn much and I don’t like that at all because it makes me feel weird and who likes feeling weird. Not like there’s anything wrong with being weird I just feel too uncomfortable know that others are thinking something of what i’m doing. But anyways I think my head is going to explode from all this thinking about homecoming. Like it’s been the only thing I can think about I’m to the point that I don’t even want to go anymore. Like a lot of people are saying that it could potentially be a waste of money and I just don’t want to be mad and go home. This is my senior year and I got my fingers crossed that homecoming wont be a complete flop. I already got pieces of my outfit i’m supposed to get the rest of it on Saturday, but we’ll see how that goes. Considering that my mom is always changing her mind at the last minute. My biggest pet peeve with planning things for events is having to compromise when things don’t go exactly how I envisioned on them going. Shit is mad annoying. But that’s all I have for today. Bad girl Riri done did it again ya’ll. Rihanna is well known for doing things under wraps meaning she ain’t gone tell ya’ll when she’s popping out, but just know that she gone pop out. Rihanna has a new documentary which is now available AmazonPrimeVideos. Her show is starring a handful of performances by Halsey, Migos, Dj Khaled , Big Sean, A$AP Ferg, and plenty more. She also will be having people model her new lingerie line called ” Savage X Fenty”. Starring Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Normani, Christian Combs, and many more. It’s also rumored for her to be releasing her 13th album. This is amazing news considering that she hasn’t released ANY music since 2016 with her album “Anti”. I am personally excited to see Normani perform during the show. I will also be seating at the edge of my seat waiting for Rihanna’s new music it’s been a long time coming for the Navy ( Her fanbase). I feel extremely bad for them they’ve been living off of Fenty cosmetics and Fenty athletic wear for the past 2-3 years I know how depressing that can be. Well guys to be honest with you all that’s all the news I got on Ms. Fenty i’m pretty sure we can be expecting some more with the holidays right around the corner. Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentle. Hoco 2K19 is vastly approaching and I know for a fact that there is all something we are worried about. Music. MHS has a bad reputation for playing a handful of early 2000’s music and not enough modern music and if they happen to it for like 2016-2018 and I know that it’s not a staff member who’s DJing, but dang do we need a better DJ? Can we get one? Like seriously this is my senior year and im trying to get rachet you feel me. I just got back from a #HotGirlSummer and I really wanna party like one. So lets get down to the nitty gritty.Let’s talk about some music I personally would love to hear. I’m trying to hear some Meghan Thee Stallion preferably her number one song right now with my boy Da Baby “Cash Sh*t” . That song goes CRAZY. It’s bound to get the crowd moving. Next up on my personal list is “No Guidance” By the man Chris Brown featuring Drake. That song is the song of the summer it can easily get anybody in their feelings and anybody up on their feet. That’s one of the songs I randomly start singing out of nowhere. Another easy favorite of mine at the moment is “Clout” by Offset featuring his beautiful wife Cardi B. That song rigt there is just a whole vibe. If you know then you know. Moving on to last of the top five of the songs that NEED to be played at homecoming 2K19. Next is, “Suge” by the man of the year Da Baby, he is KILLING the rap game right now, the hook of this song is insanely catchy like Oh my gosh. You’ll catch yourself singing it all damn day. Then we have, “Bitchuary” by shordie Shordie now guys i’m not too familiar with this artist but this song straight slapped this summer. Last but definitely not least is ” Shota Flow” by NLE Choppa this song is straight fire especially at a party. So those are some of the song that i’d love to hear at HOCO 2K19. What’s happening ya’ll, So of course I am well aware that i’m hella late in the game for this to be my FIRST blog EVER. This is going to be a little introduction to me and my little blog I got going on. If you guys stick around I promise you you’ll be entertained. My name is Ivy, but on the inter webs I like to go by IIcyXIIvy I don’t know dude I just feel comfortable with that little name. I am currently 17 going on 18 as of next month #LibraGang!
